Steinmetz Jubilee Pink Diamond
Steinmetz Diamonds have crafted a unique, cushion cut, pink-brown diamond, weighing 35.60 carats, aptly named the STEINMETZ FOREVERMARK JUBILEE PINK. On display at the Tower of London from Friday 1st June, it will be a fitting tribute to mark the special occasion of HM Queen Elizabeth II’s Diamond Jubilee.
The STEINMETZ FOREVERMARK JUBILEE PINK was crafted by Steinmetz Diamonds and carries the unique 19522012 Forevermark inscription, celebrating both the year the Queen came to the throne in 1952, and the 60th year reign, 2012. These features will forever associate it with this historic occasion.
The diamond will form the centrepiece of a new display, charting its remarkable journey from mine to finished piece. Recovered by Rockwell Diamonds in South Africa’s Saxendrift mine, the 179.60 carats rough diamond was designed and cut at Steinmetz Diamonds’ Johannesburg factory where master cutters spent six months crafting the prestigious gem.
The Martin Tower, within the Tower of London, is the perfect host for this exciting new exhibition as it was home to the Crown Jewels for nearly 200 years, from 1669 – 1841. The Crown Jewels are now displayed in the neighbouring Waterloo Barracks, and have recently undergone a major re-presentation to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee of Her Majesty The Queen, made possible thanks to the generosity of the De Beers Family of Companies.
