Steinmetz announced its three-year partnership with McLaren Mercedes in May 2005 and returned to Monaco for the third consecutive year in style. The drivers, KimiRaikkonen and Juan Pablo Montoya, wore helmets with their names paved with over 200 diamonds. The Iceman KimiRaikkonen flashed through the finish line almost 30 seconds ahead of the rest to receive the Steinmetz Monaco Grand Prix Trophy, given away to the race winner every year.
